Each and every time I talk to someone about airsoft, they always ask me one question. They want to know, before they ever ask about a gun or how to play the game, “How much does it hurt?” I guess this is an acceptable question because, in reality, getting shot with any projectile is going to hurt a good bit. The problem with trying to describe how much it hurts is that it is difficult to do so without some sort of basis for comparison. That said, the best way to talk about it is in terms of what a paintball feels like.If you have ever been hit by a paintball, then you know about the quick, shooting pain that occurs. You know about the welt that will appear on your skin shortly after taking a paintball to the open body. Most people will tell you that getting shot by an Echo1 Airsoft gun or something comparable is not quite as bad as getting hit with a paintball. In reality, the pain is just a different type of pain. It stings a little bit when you get hit, but the burning, long term pain associated with getting hit by a paintball does not happen when you get hit with an airsoft pellet.
