My dad is a sailor.  He has been a sailor since he turned 18.  He started out in the Navy and when he retired he decided to do so near the beach so that he could still go out in a boat when he had the chance.  He originally bought a fixer upper boat that required him to purchase some OMC parts.  He was happy with the parts that he was able to get.  They were absolutely sound parts that worked well for years.  He did not have to replace those marine parts for several years, and it was only when he decided to look for a new boat that he even had to venture into a boat store.

Once he was in that store, he could not be stopped.  My dad not only got a new boat, but he also got several marine accessories that I am still not sure he really needed for the new boat, but he bought anyways.  My dad loves being the captain of his boat and the one accessory that he got was a captain’s hat.  We still make fun of him for that one.  But I would not give up my co-captain hat for anything myself.
