For a child, what to be for Halloween is a serious decision. Not to be taken lightly, a child considers who his favorite character is; who he wants to be like, who is coolest this year and which halloween costumes would be the envy of the other children. While parents think about safety and warmth of the costume, a child is just looking for what makes him look cool. The availability of costumes is a little overwhelming - a child can be just about anyone or anything he wishes to be.

With a little inspiration and help from mom and dad, a child can fulfill dreams. Always a fan of super heroes, our son has been scoping out a superman costume since the stores began stocking Halloween supplies two weeks ago. He asks to visit the isle over and over as we do our weekly shopping. He seems to want to make sure it is still there and to ensure another little boy hasn’t scooped it up without his knowledge. We tried to coax him into wearing his older brother’s hand-me-down darth vader costume but he won’t hear of it. He was staying true to his interest in Superman. He practices his flying leaps from the couch and draws pictures of himself in his Superman cape. Soon, we will be off to purchase the beloved outfit and will fulfill our little man’s dream.
