Carpal Tunnel
Posted by wannaberich on 03/15/09 in Health
I’m a software engineer at a startup company. This basically means that I sit in front of a computer typing all day. Since it’s a startup, all of the employees are expected to put in extra time everyday in order to make the company a success. Most days I’m at work at 6:30 in the morning and I usually don’t get home until at least 9:00 p.m. I am really trying to make a good impression and I work really hard all day. That means that most days I am typing a good 12 or 13 hours. I’ve been doing this for months now so, of course, I ended up developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
I’ve been taking aspirin for it but that isn’t cutting it any more. It actually hurts really badly. I don’t know anything about carpal tunnel treatment. Is there anything that can even be done? I cannot stop or even slow down with my typing.
I have been taking a ton of aspirin, which I am not comfortable with. I would like to look into some natural pain relief methods. I was looking at some magnetic therapy products on the internet but I want to learn more about that first. I need to find a way that I can manage my pain without having to change the amount of typing that I do. I’m going to check out the magnets and maybe some other alternative treatments.
