Starting a Savings Account for My Child
Posted by Rich on 10/20/08 in Finance
When I took Matt to the doctor the other day for his checkup, it really hit me how fast he’s growing up. That’s why I’m going to open a savings account for my child. Money is a little tight right now, but I can find a little money each pay period to put into his account.
Also, I’m going to start his account with the cash for gold that I got last week. I decided it was high time to sell scrap gold jewelry that I no longer had any use for. Let me tell you, it was a great decision. The value of gold is pretty high, and the company compensated me very well for my old jewelry.
I’m also thinking about holding a garage sale pretty soon to earn a little extra money for Matt’s savings account. It will also help get rid of a lot of the clutter in our house! We have so much stuff taking up space that we haven’t used in months if not years.
Anyway, I’m excited about opening up the savings account for my child. By putting in a little money over the long-term, I think he’ll have a nice sum of money later on in life.
