I’m a single guy who owns a Golden Lab.  Fortunately, I have a big enough yard for Mattie to run around in, plus it’s fenced so she can’t get out.  Because I’m at work all day installing home security systems,  I decided to get her an automatic feeder as well as a pet fountain - she’s been really patient about being left alone, so I figure she deserves stuff like that.  Having someone drop in to feed and water her every day would not be something I could afford.

I found the feeder and fountain at an online website where you can buy discount pet supplies.  They’ve got all sorts of neat stuff.  I always have fun browsing, and they often have things on sale.  I usually get Frontline Flea Control there too. 

On weekends I try to make up for being gone all day during the week.  I take her for a run after work, but it’s not usually for over 30 minutes.  So on weekends I take Mattie for long walks, which she gets very excited about, and I usually give her a bath too, which she doesn’t get too excited about.  That’s one big difference between taking care of a dog and taking care of a cat.  You don’t need to give cats a bath.
