My Educational Neighborhood

There are a lot of things that I love about the neighborhood where I live. I love the little cafe around the corner from me. I love the proximity to public transportation. I love the architecture of the homes that surround me. But mostly I love how many things there are that I can learn without leaving my neighborhood.
For example, I can learn how to play shuffleboard. There is a little park just one block away from me which has shuffleboard courts. I recently found out that there is a shuffle board instructor who volunteers his time there once a week to teach people how to play the game.
I can also learn how to do a number of different artistic techniques. That’s because there’s an art school around the corner from me that offers community classes. I can learn drawing, painting, sculpting, jewelry making and a few other things. The classes are a little pricey but they’re so close to my house that it’s worth it.
And of course I can learn a whole world of things by going to my local library. The library near me is less than two blocks away and it’s open six days a week. If there’s something I want to learn then that’s a great place to start! What can you learn in your neighborhood?
