Golf College 101: Take Business to the Green

You don’t need to go to golf college to understand the importance of the game to the world of business. Many significant mergers, acquisitions and partnerships have been forged on the back nine. For this reason, it’s important that you gain some experience in golfing if you want to go far in business. You don’t have to start looking in to a pro golf career but you should be able to select the right clubs and avoid embarrassment as a beginning business golf player.

One great way to start learning how to make golf work for you is to attend a class specifically designed for business golf. Many people who are teaching golf understand that you aren’t out there to get perfect at the game, just to be able to do well enough that you can focus on your business instead of on your golf flaws. Look for a teacher who has experience in business golf lessons.

Alternatively, you might just want to get out on the green with a group that you trust. Practice makes perfect as they say. Your MasterMind or Best Practices group may find that ideas start to flow while out on the golf course. Plus, working with a group in this way will help you develop skills in not just the game but in the art of doing business while playing the game.
