Corporate Engineer in Training

I bet that many of you didn’t know that you are a corporate engineer in training did you? Each time you sit behind the wheel of your car, you are taking on many responsibilities that corporate engineers and mechanics do every day.
Each day you have lubrication systems and cooling systems that you are responsible for. You must make sure that you have enough oil in your car to keep the engine parts running smoothly and you must keep enough water in your cars motor to keep it cool and running. Water flow measurement is easily done in one of two ways. First, you have a temperature gauge in your car. If this is approaching the danger area, then you must take action to cool the car down. Also, you must keep your water bottle and radiator filled with water at all times.
You even have an oil flow monitor that you must watch every day. If your oil light comes on, then you know it’s time to put some oil in the car. Of course, hopefully you are checking your oil before the light comes on.
I know some of these things are considered basic car maintenance but they are not dissimilar to what a corporate engineer does every day on the job. Of course, you don’t get paid six figures to monitor the gauges on your car.
